  • Dislikes: Battles, anything relating to death, death itself, getting jacked with on the battlefield, his Sentries- especially Simon- getting threatened, Scouts (they seem to pick on him the most, he's not entirely sure why), Spies (they creep him out), Heavies (one wrong move with a Heavy and he's dead)

  Jason was just a college kid in California. San Francisco, to be exact. He gets a twinge of a Californian accent back if he's ever in his home state long enough again. Kinda funny.
  
  He was a normal person, only unusual because of his overt nerdiness. The kid practically reeked of it. Because of this, he was the prime target for any jocks with superiority complexes that needed to be expressed. That was his life, getting bounced around from place to place and getting harassed each time. There comes a point where you get desensitized to these things. Jason had long since reached that point. He didn't hear the words, hardly felt the blows. If he didn't think about it enough, maybe it would just go away on its own.
  
  The meek boy turned to robotics as an escape. He built some pretty masterful machines, in his own humble opinion. His little creations could literally rip the other robots to shreds if ever engaged in a duel. Not only could his machines sense their environment, but they could also react to it, and that made them so much more dangerous. He programmed them a certain way as to not purposely hurt anything though, not unless given the specific order.
  
  Sort of like a Sentry, if you thought about it long enough.
  
  After enough battlebot tournaments and robotics championships, the problem-solving skills of Jason were brought to the Administrator's attention. Miss Pauling was sent out to recruit him, and after a little hesitancy, he finally accepted the job. He still has plans to finish out his degrees, while earning a steady yet dangerous paycheck during the day.
  
  Jason isn't a fan of violence. That's why he makes violent machines, so they do the dirty work for him so he doesn't have to worry about it. The Sentries weren't all that hard to comprehend, considering he had already built many things similar to it before. The very first one he made worked for maybe five minutes before it malfunctioned and killed everything that moved in a twenty foot radius, including Jason himself. It took three Demomen and a Spy to knock the thing out. Luckily, he learned from his mistakes, figured out what he did wrong, and hasn't built a faulty machine since. His Sentries are some of the best on the team and only really die if they get plugged with a Sapper.
  
  This doesn't stop Jason from dying on a daily basis, though. He averages about two deaths per day, which is rather annoying since he pukes his guts up every time he respawns. But a job's a job, and he needs to pay for college somehow. His old job at In-and-Out Burger wasn't exactly cutting it.
  
  Despite his frequent deaths, Jason is still rather naive as to how things work. He doesn't like killing people, and it's much too easy to gain his trust and then stab him in the back, at least if you're stealthy about it. He's still rather new to TF2, which is probably why he's still rather easy; he'll wisen up soon enough, hopefully sooner rather than later.
  
  He enjoys building Sentries and grows attached to the little machines he builds. He gets rather sad when his Sentries get destroyed and tries to rebuild them out of the old parts to save a little bit of the former machine. He can build up to a Level 3, but Level 1's will always be his favorites. They have more personality than the higher levels (Level 3's have a certain air of snobbiness around them, in his opinion) and are also more portable than the 3's. He can just pick a 1 up and move it somewhere else without having to dismantle it and put it back together. He is highly protective of his machines and doesn't stray too far away from them on the battlefield since he's afraid they're going to get sapped or destroyed by someone. His Sentries are his babies- don't mess with them, or he'll make sure to put a shotgun shell in your face.
  
  There's one particular Level 1 Sentry Jason's built that he's forged a deep bond with. It was his second Sentry ever built, so it's a little quirky, but Jason loves it to death, and it's had the good luck to not get destroyed as of yet. He calls it Simon and refers to it as a 'he', claiming that its feelings will get hurt if it gets called otherwise. The Sentry has come close to dying a couple of times, mostly at the hands of a Spy's Sapper, but Jason protects the little machine with his life and has managed to save it more than once. He will be seriously devastated if Simon ever gets blown up. He loves the Sentry and the Sentry seems to show affection for its creator; it really is fascinating to watch Jason have a conversation with Simon and it seems to understand him and respond to his words. He's learned Simon's language of sorts and can tell how the machine is 'feeling' at that moment judging off its body language and sounds. Simon is one of his best friends on the BLU team.
  
  Jason doesn't have a lot of friends on the team besides the Pyro. The Pyro is the only person who doesn't make fun of him in some way; of course, the Pyro never really talks, so that helps a lot. Nobody understands why Jason likes the Pyro so much, but he sees the Pyro almost like a child. He has a sort of innocence about him outside the battlefield and it amazes him, especially since he's seen the man at work. He'd hate to get on the other side of the Pyro's flamethrower. He also really likes the Medic's birds, although the Medic doesn't really like Jason messing with his birds too much, so the Engineer has to be real discrete when he slips the doves some bread from dinner.
  
  He's on the quiet side, so it makes sense that he's friends with a Sentry, a mute and a few animals. He doesn't like being approached or threatened and will literally curl into a ball if assaulted and wait for the attacker to get bored and go away. Maybe not the best strategy, but he's a timid fellow, so it's the only plan he's got. He'd rather much resort to using his wits than his shotgun.
  
  Jason can often be mistaken for a Medic while on the battlefield since he refuses to wear the traditional Engineer overalls. He instead takes a classier route with a blue polo shirt, some worn out jeans, and a lab coat, claiming that he's not a construction worker, but an Engineer. It's a little confusing and kind of irking to his other teammates, but he still does a decent job so so far no one has confronted it with him.
